"The wheel-in shower came complete with a shower stool, but still had a lovely deep bath for me, and there was also a separate carers bed if needed"

From the beautifully kept gardens surrounding the buildings to the lovely bar area and the friendly and helpful owners, this was very different from the average accommodation provided for wheelchair users. Instead of clinical and basic, it was a fantastic ground floor contemporary styled apartment, no expense spared and an absolute joy.
The area was so peaceful but close to Kendal which was well worth spending a day out in. We didn't need to go anywhere though as it was the perfect long weekend retreat for recharging the batteries.
We ordered food from one of the big supermarkets, which was delivered with no problem, after stopping at Tebay to buy the locally produced meat, but we were really pleased to find the owners had supplied locally sourced cheese, pickle, jam, butter, and milk in the fridge along with tea, coffee, sugar, artisan bread and wine when we arrived!

We had a drink in the bar with its terrace and spectacular view, only open at certain times but we were told about it well in advance. Catering is only for big parties agreed when booking but takeaways do deliver apparently, though we didn't need it. It was definitely worth the cost, and we both came away refreshed, so really recommend it.
