Walk 29 Cat Bells

The most wonderful cottage, what a gem! It's within easy drive of so many amazing walks & pretty villages. We've done everything from catching a lunchtime organ concert in the Cartmel Priory, to visiting Ruskin's Brantwood House to an amazing drive through the Duddon Valley & Eskdale taking in the iron furnace, Stanley Force Waterfall and the remote Hardnott Roman fort. Chesters for lunch by the river was gorgeous; the walk up to Cat Bells on a bright sunny day with views to die for was worth the aching legs! Other highlights were a visit to Dove Cottage and Wordsworth's grave, a boat trip on Derwentwater and Castlerigg stone circle. We even took in a film at The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal - amazing 5 days ... we will definitely be back!
